Everybody Out! dRMM joins the 2021 Global Climate Strike
dRMM will join the Fridays for Future Global Climate Strike on Friday 24 September, gathering with fellow climate activists in the fight against climate change and biodiversity loss.
Our studio-wide participation is part of an ongoing commitment to wider climate action. This year’s strike focuses on Climate Justice, emphasising the need to support MAPA: Most Affected People and Places. dRMM has always highlighted social divide as the third facet to the ongoing emergency, occurring in parallel with climate and biodiversity erosion. We continue to be committed to gaining and sharing more knowledge around the ways intersectional communities are affected by climate change.
Sustainable design, research and construction methods have been at the heart of dRMM’s work for 25 years. Our team also has strong presence within wider industry climate action. dRMM’s Sustainability & Regenerative Design Manager, Kat Scott, forms part of the Architects Declare steering group, whilst several dRMM team members are involved with ACAN.
Alongside our design-oriented commitments to Architects Declare and RIBA 2030 Climate Challenge, the studio has also signed up the Race to Zero initiative, relating to our business operations. As signatories of the SME Climate Hub, dRMM has committed to three key objectives. These are to halve our greenhouse gas emissions before 2030; to achieve net zero emissions before 2050; and to disclose our progress on a yearly basis.
dRMM joins with all activists to call all individuals, organisations and international governments to accelerate action against the irreversible impacts of climate change.
Join us at Parliament Square at 11am on Friday, 24 September 2021 to stand up against climate change and for climate justice!
