The core construction for the Tower of Love came together as a rapid, environmentally low-impact process. The CLT lift shaft was assembled horizontally on site and craned upright. The CLT construction of the ‘mini tower’ was erected within two weeks. The structure combined glue-laminate deep beams and cross-laminated timber for floor slab and perimeter wall panels. Internally, the engineered timber was left exposed, lending qualities of warmth to the building’s interiors.
