We’re pleased to announce that the consortium of dRMM, ZRS Architekten, IFUB* and Stadt Raum Planung have been successful in their bid to design the Angler-/ Heimeranstraße quarter development in Munich.

The focus is on collaborative thinking for the entire area and the creation of more affordable living space. Central themes of the neighbourhood concept, which consists of six buildings and three inner courtyards, are the maximum preservation of existing buildings, circular construction, and comprehensive accessibility. By preserving the ‘grey energy’ conserved in the existing buildings, the project will be as sustainable as possible. The small proportion of new construction will be built with ecological materials using sustainable construction methods and designed to be as circular as possible with the entire life cycle taken into account.

The project is one of the pilot projects of the Bavarian state government’s “Gebäudetyp-e” (building type e) initiative and is part of the “Wohnlabore” (living laboratories) pilot series of the state capital Munich. It is funded as an individual project by the Bavarian urban development program.
