Urban Regeneration Framework for Woolwich town centre

Urban Regeneration Framework for Woolwich town centre

dRMM are delighted to have been appointed by the Royal Borough of Greenwich to lead the preparation of a new Urban Regeneration Framework for Woolwich town centre.

With the arrival of the Elizabeth line, journey times to Wharf, the City and the West End have been dramatically reduced, reinforcing Woolwich’s strategic role in London’s growth.

dRMM will lead a multi-disciplinary team, made up of Masterplanning + More, Graham Haworth Studio, Augarde and Partners, Urban Flow, CBRE, Vogt and Something Collective to shape a clear, confident blueprint for the town centre and its surrounding neighbourhoods. The Framework will align development, public realm and investment behind a single place vision that is practical, deliverable and rooted in local life.

The Council has set out clear objectives to strengthen Woolwich as a commercial centre, grow a lively high street and evening economy, deliver affordable and flexible workspace and new homes, improve health and community infrastructure, and create greener, safer and better connected streets.

Our approach, published towards the end of the year, will focus on stitching these ambitions together into one coherent story for the town centre. This can ensure the Framework supports inclusive growth, climate resilience and improved quality of life, supporting the Council and its partners to deliver a sustainable and thriving Woolwich town centre over the next 10 years.
