dRMM’s studio culture rests on inclusiveness, a strong system of support, and open communication. Since the foundation of our practice, we have championed gender balance within each level of our operation. Today, over 50% of our workforce is female, with our male to female ratio having parity at every level of management, including director level. We have built a studio that attracts like-minded designers who are interested in collaboration, experimentation, and who share a sensitivity towards people, places and planet.

We believe talent is blind to race, gender or physical ability

We work hard to understand the complexities of an industry that is characterised by lack of representation. In doing so, we recognise that with our influence as industry leaders we can help to challenge the status quo and contribute towards positive change. dRMM has always been an international and multi-cultural studio; we strive to build on the existing diversity of our team, championing greater representation of backgrounds in our practice.

At dRMM, every person’s opinion and input is of equal value

dRMM functions as a flat hierarchical organisation, meaning we encourage open dialogue and contribution from all team members, regardless of their professional title. We strive to create a studio environment that promotes idea exchange and critical input from every studio member. Our strength as a team is our approachability and desire to meet common goals. We are hard-working, yet we also prioritise play. We enjoy each other’s company and value each other’s talent and contribution.

We value both work and play, and that makes us better architects

As a studio, we believe that every person’s individual point-of-view adds layers of value to the design process. We ensure that all our team members feel empowered to share their interests, influences and personal passions with the wider studio. We regularly hold internal presentations that showcase our endeavours outside practice. Our team members are united by a great sense of curiosity and an even greater sense of fun.

We feed our creativity through activity

dRMM’s team has an energy and spirit that is inviting and infectious. We regularly invite clients, collaborators and friends into our studio to share their passions and insights with us. We organise team trips, outings and events to collectively gain knowledge, both inside and outside the architecture industry. We also participate in industry activities, such as cycling events and charity walks. We value the social side of practice not just because it promotes a healthier work-life balance, but because we truly believe it makes us better creative thinkers.
