Our Silvertown Tunnel Portal Buildings have won three Awards at the annual Brick Development Association Awards: Craftmanship, Contractor’s Choice and Supreme Winner of 2025.
Using Ketley Class A Staffordshire Blue, and laid by specialist brickwork contractor AVV Solutions, the articulated brick façades help create prominent architectural landmarks, marking the tunnel entrances as gateways to this major piece of infrastructure.
The awards across multiple categories reflect the skill of both the design and delivery teams. The Craftmanship Award recognises the ‘attention to detail, and dedication that go into creating truly exceptional brickwork’. Contractors’ Choice is decided by a large, selected panel of Bricklayers and Brick Contractors from across the UK, while the highest accolade, the Supreme Award, acknowledges the brickwork as the ‘pinnacle of excellence in design, craft, and execution.’
This is the second top award the project has received having picked up Project at the Year at the Association of Brickwork Contractors Awards earlier this year.
