We are drawing on our pioneering experience with timber, on the judging panels for two key industry awards.

Jonas Lencer, director at dRMM, is a judge for the Wood Awards again this year. Jonas is particularly interested in material development, with a focus on the potential of timber, prefabricated materials, and those with a propensity for modularity and circularity. This is enhanced by his experience on Endless Stair, WoodBlock House and other timber projects at dRMM.

Finbar Charleson, architect and research lead at dRMM, is a judge for the Structural Timber Awards for the first time. He’s currently working on two timber related research projects; ‘Measuring Mass Timber’ for Built by Nature, and ‘Building From England’s Woodlands’ for the Forestry Commission, and is a Lecturer in Environmental and Structural Design at the Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL.

Both the Wood Awards and the Structural Timber Awards are free to enter, and the deadlines are in May and June respectively.
