We strive to create a studio environment that encourages dialogue and critical input from every team member.
Our collective strength is our approachability and desire to meet common goals.
BSc, MArch, ARB
Tonia was made a dRMM Associate in 2020 after joining the studio in 2014. Aside from day-to-day project running, team management and overseeing of deliverables, Tonia is instrumental in the progression of dRMM’s internal communication and knowledge building.
Working across a number of key residential and commercial projects, Tonia has gained valuable experience on both retrofit and new-build schemes. Her work as project lead on dRMM’s North West Cambridge Hotel has shaped the studio’s lateral approach to hospitality design, championing flexibility as a driver for creating dynamic, enduring accommodation and leisure spaces. Tonia oversees the project’s daily operations and plays a crucial role in its stakeholder engagement. Her work on the hotel’s design has ranged from concept development to value engineering, working to reconcile technical viability with user and client requirements.
Tonia’s work on relationship management extends to her internal role within dRMM, where she works to strengthen communication between the design and leadership teams. She heads forum discussions and helps steer regular Project Quality Reviews. Collectively, these tasks feed her interest in knowledge transfer from projects across to wider studio practice, ensuring constant improvement in performance and efficiency.
Tonia’s extensive project work – including the office project at 51-54 Fenchurch Street; the Old Fire Station refurbishment; the residential tower, Brill Place; and mixed-use projects based in Moscow – contributes to dRMM’s wider efforts in redefining conventional industry typologies. She is interested in driving the growth of the studio’s work sectors, examining where each of those sectors might intersect and their potential for greater international reach.
Before joining dRMM, Tonia worked at Adjaye Associates in New York. She gained her Masters in Architecture from the Bartlett, UCL, and her Part III at Westminster University.
