Steve is an Associate Director at dRMM and has led some of the studio’s most influential projects, including Tustin Estate, the Sky Health & Fitness Centre and the RIBA Stirling Prize nominated Trafalgar Place. He joined dRMM in 2008, and as a project lead, Steve brings a confident ability to safeguard design concepts through complex logistical matters on projects of all scales.

His collaborative style is propelled by dialogue – both internally within the dRMM design studio, and externally amongst client stakeholder groups and the design team. With an innate ability to balance disparate priorities simultaneously, Steve is known for his approachable, proactive and organised leadership style.  

As a member of dRMM’s management team, Steve’s role encompasses leading technical review sessions, overseeing the studio’s resourcing as well as the Project Quality management. Along with Victoria Hale, he is one of the studio’s Principal Designers. These responsibilities allow Steve to share his in-depth expertise on project administration, helping architects to identify and resolve problems throughout every stage of a project’s lifespan.  

Steve has played a key role in several of the studio’s residential, mixed-use, masterplanning, education and commercial schemes. As well as Tustin Estate and Trafalgar Place, examples include ArtHouse at Kings Cross; East Village in Stratford and the large-scale residential-led regeneration of the Queensway Estate in Southend-on-Sea. Beyond residential design, Steve was involved in our work on Exeter Royal Academy for Deaf Education, WorkStack light industrial intensification project in Charlton and Sky Health & Fitness Centre in west London.
